Transportation Insight Showcases Extended LEAN® at Shingo International Conference

Globally recognized enterprise third-party logistics (3PL) provider Transportation Insight will showcase its Extended LEAN® and Supply Chain Analytics solutions at the upcoming Shingo International Conference, held May 5-9, 2014 in Sandusky, Ohio. At Booth #13, and also during a Table Talk on Wednesday May 7, attendees can learn how Transportation Insight’s Extended LEAN® methodology of continuous improvement helps clients take their LEAN journey from tactical to transformational by removing non-value-added activity throughout the entire supply chain, providing maximum value to the end customer.

“To sustain growth in today’s volatile markets, companies must undergo rigorous analysis of their operations, and their supply chain network, to eliminate wastes and develop lasting value,” said Eric Lail, Vice President of Client Services and Continuous Improvement at Transportation Insight. “LEAN principles should be embedded in the workplace, so that everyone in the organization is engaged on a daily basis to architect a culture of continuous improvement.”

Lail, one of the world’s 200 Shingo Prize Examiners and a nationally-recognized LEAN leader, leads a team of LEAN professionals who design customized, enterprise-wide LEAN solutions to help businesses navigate turbulent economic times while also improving operational performance, execution strategies and corporate culture. The 3PL helps clients boost overall performance by utilizing its Extended LEAN® approach, which combines LEAN principles with state-of-the-art supply chain modeling technology and logistics expertise to help clients continuously find ways to eliminate wastes, reduce costs and streamline processes across their extended supply chains.

“Transportation Insight has conducted numerous Extended LEAN assessments and transformations, helping our clients to remove non-value added activities within their four walls and beyond,” adds Lail, the developer of Extended LEAN . “Clients capture market share, establish dominance in their industry and increase profitability through collaborative efforts.”

The Shingo Prize was created at Utah State University as a way to recognize excellent organizations and to set a standard to which the world may aspire. As a Shingo Examiner, Lail uses his expertise in operational excellence to evaluate organizations through report reviews and site visit assessments. An Examiner’s expertise is a function of experience and training with the Shingo Model™ and assessment criteria.

At the Shingo International Conference, professionals will gather to learn what peers are doing around the world to thrive in a new era of enterprise excellence. Keynote presentations, workshops, industry-focused breakout sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions and plant tours will all take place during the five-day conference. Shingo Prize winners will be awarded the distinctive prize on Thursday evening at an awards gala.
