Starting this week’s staff movements in the freight forwarding and shipping industry with the announcement that CMA CGM has appointed Rodolphe Saadé as Vice Chairman Executive Officer, thereby making him second-in-command of the Group, in line with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Jacques R. Saadé’s desire for his son to succeed him when the time comes. Jacques Saadé’s Daughter Tanya Saadé Zeenny has also been appointed as an Executive Officer in addition to her role as General Secretary. These appointments ‘reaffirm the family dimension of the Group’.
UK – Consolidated Fork Truck Services (CFTS) has announced the appointment of Mike Mathias, of Toyota Material Handling UK, as its new Chairman. He takes over from Richard Hayes of Brindley Lift Trucks, who ended his two-year term of office.
UK – Buffaload Logistics has appointed Graham Usher as its new Sales Director.
UK – SINGAPORE – At Dryad Maritime the current Director of Intelligence, Ian Millen is to assume the role of Chief Operating Officer from Karen Jacques, who will be relocated to the Pacific in order to take the helm and grow Dryad Maritime across Asia and the Americas.
DENMARK – SINGAPORE – Former Maersk man Steen Nygaard Madsen has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Thome Ship Management, effective June 1.
GERMANY – SINGAPORE – DHL have announced a series of changes to its communications department with the promotion of Head of Regional Communications AP/EEMEA, Anita Gupta, to the role of Senior Vice President of Media Relations, effective September 1. She will relocate from Singapore to DHL’s headquarters in Bonn, Germany, and replaces Silje Skogstad who is to become the Head of the Corporate Strategy department as Senior Vice President, effective June 1.
Succeeding Gupta in Singapore will be Belinda Tan, currently Vice President of Communications AP/EEMEA. Both Gupta and Tan will report to Christof Ehrhart, Executive Vice President Corporate Communications and Responsibility. Until Gupta takes over responsibility in Bonn, Ehrhart will manage the Media Relations team directly.
US – UTi Worldwide has announced the promotion of Jeff Hammond as Senior Vice President of Global Sales.
US – APL’s head of Commercial, Gene Seroka has been nominated by LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, to become the next Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles.
US – USA Truck has announced the appointments of Vadim Perelman, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Baker Street Capital, and Thomas Glaser former interim COO, to the company’s Board of Directors.
US – The Board of Directors at MNX have appointed Paul Martins as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 4.
CANADA – Teekay Tankers has announced the appointment of Kevin Mackay as CEO, effective June 20. He will be relocating to Vancouver in the coming weeks to effect the transition of leadership from the current CEO, Bruce Chan, who has resigned.
